What is this Wiki?

This is a compilation of known information about the Golden Jigsaw puzzle, which has a stated (but unconfirmed) prize of one million dollars.

The terms provide: 4.8 If for any reason the prize value which is funded by advertisers is not reached, the prize value will be 50% of all monies received by Infinite Ideation Limited in respect of the Golden Jigsaw project.

Reminders

Golden Jigsaw has a stated policy of terminating registered users for publicly disclosing certain aspects of information about the campaign. Those who wish to contribute to the community information pool while remaining anonymous might keep in mind the following:

  • Golden Jigsaw appears to track player activity on third-party sites, including attempting to identify connections between forum users and their registered user base.
  • This site requires registration in order to edit pages. We will not disclose your personal information to any third parties but we may track it internally to aid in our enforcement of the Terms of Service, subject to which usage of this site is conditionally provided.
  • This wiki is made available only to players of Golden Jigsaw and those interested in the campaign and related discussion. This wiki is not meant for the use or perusal of employees or associates of Golden Jigsaw or Infinite Ideation Limited, or their affiliates, subsidiaries, business partners, or other interested parties.
  • When registering, your normal username or variation thereof may not provide much anonymity, especially if you used it to register at Golden Jigsaw.
  • For extra anonymity, either at Golden Jigsaw, here, or elsewhere, proxies such as Tor can be used to mask your IP address. You may also want to clear cookies, disable scripts and plugins (FlashBlock and NoScript are great Firefox extensions) because such scripts and plugins can communicate identifying information back to servers.
  • Sometimes we tend to lapse into particular styles of prose. If you have difficulty phrasing things in a fashion to which you may be unaccustomed, perhaps the Fish may be of use, particularly when translating your text from, say, English to Dutch and then back again.
  • It is better to post in a concise, purely informational fashion.
  • Information should always be backed up by links or pointers to supporting evidence.
  • Play nice.

Client Application

In order to "assemble" the jigsaw pieces, the individual PNG files must be saved into a folder and a client application must be downloaded and run locally. There are versions of this app for Windows and OS X (with Linux, BeOS, CPM, and TRS-DOS left out in the cold.) Currently, little is known about the architecture of this application. It could be a simple app to rotate and position PNG images or it could have some more fancy client/server communication and a payload of code to run when all pieces are collected and assembled. Obviously, more analysis is required.

Wild Cards

Wild Cards appeared for the first time on August 1st. These anagrams appear in lieu of a puzzle piece, with the first solve winning £50 (50 pounds sterling).

No mention of these Wild Cards exists in the terms of playing the game, and the rules pertaining to them are nebulous if extant at all.
